This weeks blog is about REIKI ENERGY HEALING ... and all the many wonderful things it can be used for.
I started my Reiki journey in 1998 when I decided to get my belly button pierced and then fainted in the food court of Hobart Mall. Embarrassing! When my flat mate picked me up she suggested that she give me some Reiki Energy Healing on my belly button. I didn't know what she was talking about ... but I trusted her ... so I let her put her hands on my belly and felt the warmth, tingling and waves of energy moving through my body. It was very cool. I decided to learn how to do it myself. And I know it was the first time (as an adult) that I felt connected to something bigger than me. Spiritual connection had not been a part of my childhood.
Other people have shared with me their first experiences of Reiki and they are wonderfully varied ... so I thought I'd share some with you:
Eliza "I am a single mum of 4 kids and I am on the go all the time. My head is full of stuff to do, I don't get enough sleep and my body aches all the time. I also had some anxiety. I was recommended to do the Reiki course by a friend. She said it helped her to sleep better and she uses it to get her kids to sleep too. I thought it was too good to be true. But when I started using the Reiki on myself and my kids I was AMAZED at the transformation. Everything got easier. We all calmed down, chilled out and we finally slept better. It's a life saver."
Sarah "My headaches were getting worse and I had tried everything from massage to acupuncture. I decided to try Reiki and it was amazing! I felt light and calm and pain-free for the first time in years. It's my new favourite thing to do."
Lucy "When I decided to do Reiki Level One it was more out of curiousity than anything else. I had never had Reiki energy healing before and I really didn't know what to expect. But after the 2nd class I was feeling the energy between my hands, my body felt lighter, my head was clearer and I was able to feel what people needed on an intuitive level. It was so incredible. I am hooked."
Dave "I worked in a stressful job. It was 6 days a week and I felt like I was on the hamster-wheel. I thought it would never stop. When my wife suggested I have a Reiki session I didn't really want to do it. Besides when would I have the time? So, I made a 30 minute appointment. I was amazed at how quickly I calmed down. My breathing slowed. And I noticed that the tension in my shoulders and neck reduced. Afterwards I also felt clearer and more focused. It was the totally worth the time."
Louise "I had an accident when I was 27 years old and it left me almost paralyzed for 6 months. I was starting to feel depressed. I had lots of time to think while I was in hospital. I decided that I needed to change my life and take care of myself better. I met a lady while I was doing my physio and rehabilitation who introduced me to Reiki energy healing. It was a key element in my pain relief program. Once a week for 6 months I had my treatments and my pain would reduce every time. I later decided to do Reiki Level One, Two and Master courses to enable me to heal myself and others. I love it."
Tim "I found the Reiki Level One course wonderful for calming my mind and helping me to meditate more effectively. Now when I sit in my garden to meditate, I put my hands on my heart, close my eyes and I am easily taken to a blissful state. It's not complicated. It's just assisting me to let the energy flow."

This week's blog is about ANXIETY ... and how meditation helped me to find my peace.
Anxiety ... it's such a common issue these days. Mostly it seems to be generated by a very high expectation of how our life is SUPPOSED to be now or was MEANT to have been in the past.
I moved down to Phillip Island in late 2013 to start my own business. I thought a sea-change and being my own boss would be more empowering and less stressful than having someone tell me what to do all day long.
It was quiet to begin with, as is usually the case when you start a business, and there were mornings when I woke up with the peaceful sounds of birds, sunshine on my face, no alarm, and had an overwhelming anxiety. Thoughts would swirl around my mind like 'I SHOULD be doing something' ... 'I can't just lie around all morning.' ... 'I'm SUPPOSED to be running my own business.' ... 'Did I make a mistake?' ... etc. etc. etc.
Lots of old beliefs about work and being seen to be 'doing something' all the time were coming up. It was not making me feel good. And we all know that when we feel bad we can't function very well. I needed to shift my energy and focus so that I could move forward.
So, I decided to use the skills and tools that I wanted to teach others.
I made a pact with myself to start my day with high vibrational energy.
When I woke up, while still lying in bed, I would put on my headphones and start my favourite Deepak Chopra or Doreen Virtue or Brian Weiss meditation ... 15 or 20 minutes later if I didn't feel better I would do another one. Moving meditations are fantastic too! Take a walk and listen to a meditation at the same time. Bonus exercise!! Yay!
I reminded myself every day that since my time was my own I could take as long as I needed to shift my thoughts and energy to a better space. I took my power back.
If you are new to meditation and 20 minutes seems like forever then you can start with 5 minutes until you feel comfortable.

This week's blog is about LOVE ... yep ... it's something that everyone thinks about and wants and, in truth, we need to survive.
Barbara de Angelis (author of many great books including "The Choice for Love") says that if you want to connect with your next partner or soul mate, you need to know and trust that they are also wanting to connect with you.
And because the Law of Attraction states that we draw into our lives that which we focus on consistently - it is important to focus on the partner and not the WANTING of the partner or the LACK OF the partner. Because that is what you will continue to attract.
Barbara says that one of the ways you can bring the perfect person to you is by writing a letter to your partner or soul mate as if they are ALREADY here ... which they are in divine energetic terms ...
So, you don't know his/her name or what he/she looks like yet, but they are transforming and researching to be ready JUST LIKE YOU. Your higher self is protecting you until you (and they) are ready to meet.
Take time to learn how to give yourself love, so that you can come together as equals and not be trying to complete the other person.
Don't rush into a partnership when you are still working out your own issues.
Once you write your letter, then you can read your letter daily to keep the vision clear and stay focused.

Dear beautiful man,
I am so excited to meet you. I'm getting ready to have you in my life - as I'm sure you are too - I'm letting go of past boyfriends who hurt me, cheated on me, disrespected me and didn't communicate with me effectively. I am learning how to be open and passionate and honest again. I am allowing myself to spend time with men of all types - but especially who are spiritual and sensitive and strong and sexy. I am letting go of the need to have someone tell me what to do and be.
I look forward to you being here and having deep and meaningful philosophical discussions and also playful, silly ones too! I look forward to laughing and sharing my joys with you. I am excited to introduce you to my family and have them love and understand you, as much as you do them. I am aware we will have differences and sometimes disagree and I am willing to talk things through and make change when necessary.
I am willing to grow with you and support you in achieving your dreams and I know you will do the same for me. I know there is not biological children in my current life but I'm happy to support you in your parenting of your own / if you have any. I'm a passionate and generous lover. I love touching you. I love how you touch me. I know you are someone who I can learn from and share ourselves fully.
I feel connected to you - even though I'm not sure of the day we will meet. I love you. See you soon. Thank you.
My topic for this week is about irritations in your life ... this has come up for me because I was bitten on my arm by a very large March Fly and the bite has blossomed, red and very itchy, in the last 3 days.
Now you might not think that this is a spiritual or metaphysical topic ... but Louise Hay says that any time that there is a physical irritation in our lives it is representing a mental or emotional irritation that we are dealing with. For example: Are your eyes irritated? She would ask: What are you seeing in your life that is rubbing you the wrong way? Are your feet itchy? She would ask: What area of life are you not wanting to move forward or step ahead? Are your ears itchy or blocked? She would ask: What are you hearing in your life that is annoying or you don't want to hear?
Louise also says that the right side of your body is your masculine side representing work, career, and generally giving out your energy. The left side of your body is your feminine side representing family, relationships and generally receiving energy in your life.
Now based on these two premises my right forearm is where the very itchy, irritating bite is and so, my irritation on a metaphysical, spiritual or mental level is with my work or career. It is localized on the forearm. Arms generally represent carrying responsibilities or tasks. So, I ask myself ... what part of my tasks and responsibilities at work are irritating me right now?
And this makes a lot of sense to me ... I've been focusing on some specific tasks and getting all upset about them. They are small and petty but if I spend too much time focusing and dwelling on these things they will become bigger. Just like the March Fly bite will get bigger if I focus on it and scratch it.
So, now that I am aware of my true irritation I can address it and let it go. I could use EFT tapping to talk through the irritation to reduce the emotional upset. I could spend some time in meditation gaining some perspective on what is important in life. I could do some 'mirror work' where I say to myself in the mirror 'It's okay. I honour all my irritations. They are indicators of things that need changing. And I make changes easily in my life.'. And finally, I could talk to my boss about some ways to improve the processes, tasks and responsibilities at work.
It is always important to do the self-care work FIRST and then speak to others, if needed. Then you will be coming from a place of love, healing and peace rather than anger, upset and irritation.
So, as my bite gets a little less itchy, my work issue also gets a little less annoying - I hope this helps you identify the source of your irritations ... Please send me a message or call me if you'd like to talk them through.
