Now that we’ve had the Winter solstice on the 21st June ... the shortest day ... it is officially winter.
It is time to follow the wisdom of Bear.
(*note - when I speak about animal spirit guides it is respectful to refer to the collective by name - thus the capital letter.)
I’ve always resonated with Bear energy.
As a child I had a series of bears as my favourite comforting toy.
And recently I discovered (during an animal spirit guide meditation) that one of my power animals is Bear. That made so much sense.
Bear (and other animals) hibernate during this time. Resting and restoring themselves. They spend time sleeping.
That’s what we all naturally want to do in winter right? Sleep ... sleep ... sleep.
Do we actually do that? Rarely.
This is the perfect time for you to embrace your Bear-self (or Bare-self) ... to contemplate and comfort yourself.
Winter energy is for focusing on self acceptance, inner peace and gratitude. And couldn’t we all do with more of those? Huh? I’ve found that stress, anxiety and depression all start from a mindset of outer focus rather than inner focus.
Bear doesn’t feel afraid of hibernation, or going deep within, or dreaming, or get impatient because it’s not sunny.
Bear knows and trust unconditionally.
Winter offers great wisdom. A place to see people, places and things as they truly are and to reject the need for explanations of why, how and when.
How often have you jumped quickly into a drama or issue only to realise you should have held back? Take a breath now.
My sister loves winter. She layers her clothes, rugs up with a blanket, sits by a fire too (if possible) and watches Foxtel. It’s her safe space. So outside while the air is cold and the land is frozen hard, sometimes covered with ice and snow. It is when the world is dormant and still, but inside us opportunity is imminent.
Winter offers us encouragement to find contentment and security in our own skin. We are given an opportunity to look at our dreams and become confident that we can realise our potential. What a magical gift!
We are asked to look in the mirror and smile, certain that we did all that we could from our personal place in time. How often do we beat ourselves up for not doing enough or doing something wrong. That’s wasted energy. You did the best you could in that moment.
And if you feel you could do better - learn that lesson and do better next time. What’s that quote? You can’t move forward if you are always looking in the rear view mirror.
If you don’t feel you have been realising your potential, being your true self, taking opportunities or doing all that you can to reach your goals ... Winter is the time to recognise, accept and allow where you are ... then begin to plan and dream about the changes you would like to make.
Winter is where we find peace, maturity and the wisdom to just BE.
Use the hibernation energy of Winter to begin the process of transformation, in readiness for Spring.
Meditation, Yin Yoga (gentle practice), Quiet walks in nature, Gentle rhythmic music, Drumming and slow movements (like Qi Gong) are all wonderful things to explore at this time.
Mindful Monday Meditation classes are happening all winter. Love to see you.

In honour of the full moon, this week’s blog is about the physical and emotional effects of the moon.
You know the moon affects you right?
Do you get edgy, emotional or highly charged at certain times of the month?
This is not just a female cycle thing.
Men are equally affected.
I used to live next door to a pub in Tasmania, and every full moon there were more fights and crazy antics on the street than any other time of the month. Those guys and girls leaving the pub at midnight had no idea that their energy was being affected by the moon.
It was so obvious as an observer.
They even looked confused about the intensity of their reactions.
Some of my clients have mentioned that when they work with Dementia patients or people with disabilities (where normal communication is not easy for them and they express themselves with emotional and physical connection) this time of the month is particularly 'weird'.
I didn’t know much about this topic until I read the book ‘The Hidden Messages in Water’ by Dr. Masuru Emoto.
Our bodies are about 70% water.
The planet is also 70% water.
And the moon controls all the water on the planet.
So, we can safely say that the moon does have an affect on you.
For thousands of years people have been working with the energy of the moon to manifest and create their dreams, plant their food, heal their mind & body, plan their journey, and release anything that might be holding them back.
Each cycle of the moon has a different energy or theme.
This month the full moon theme is about communication and relationships.
So right now, you may be feeling restless, wilful or even defiant in your relationships.
The best advice during a relationship full moon is to consider those feelings coming up ... ask yourself:
- are these feelings true?
- do you have things you need to say?
- what do you need to change in yourself to bring peace?
- can you be happy if nothing changes?
The full moon is always a time to let go, release and surrender.
So I encourage you to use the energy of this full moon to surrender your relationship stuff and clear the way for more effective communication. Here are some tips:
1. Thank the full moon for showing you the truth.
2. Write down your relationships that bother you in any way.
3. Clearly see what issues are your responsibility and what are not.
4. Bless the people and the issues with love. You could go a meditation or a prayer.
5. Ask the angels or God or the Universe to take care of the issues you have no control of and be with you as you lovingly have conversations that need to happen.
6. Burn (or flush down the toilet) the list of relationships and issues to fully let them go.
Each month I do a full sound healing & meditation (with the very talented Jana Ferwerda) to help you with your releasing work.
Keep an eye on this weekly email for the next date and there is a Facebook event on my business page: @consciouscoursesandtherapies

Yasmin Boland 'Moonology' book and website: https;//www.moonology.com/
“About 71 percent of the Earth's surface is water-covered, and the oceans hold about 96.5 percent of all Earth's water. Water also exists in the air as watervapor, in rivers and lakes, in icecaps and glaciers, in the ground as soil moisture and in aquifers, and even in you and your dog.Mar 12, 2019 - https://www.usgs.gov › science”
“High tides and low tides are caused by the moon. The moon's gravitational pull generates something called the tidalforce. The tidal force causes Earth—and its water—to bulge out on the side closest to the moon and the side farthest from the moon. These bulges of water are high tides. - https://scijinks.gov › tides”
This week's blog is all about ... Me! ... well ... actually my book ...
Yep ... 'Finding my Soul at Sea' is one step closer to being born.
And the crowd goes wild !!! *laugh*
I had a meeting with my publisher (Ocean Reeve) on Saturday morning and the good news is that we are officially starting the next phase of the book production.
Seriously ... happy crazy-arms-dance in the living room ...
Yes people ... it is happening!
The cover, the formatting and the eBook are now set in motion.
And I can hear my friend Phil saying: 'But when will I have the book in my hand, Pip??!!'
Thank you for your (weekly) ... gentle harassment, Phil ... you have kept me on course.
I can confirm that in approximately 6 weeks we will be ready for pre-sales!
When I officially started writing the book in November 2017, we thought it would be ready for launching at Christmas time 2018.
But things were delayed.
Partly because of finances and ... honestly, partly because of my fears of success.
What will people think of me?
Will everyone like what I say about them?
What if ...?
What about ...?
What then ...?
When you put something out there into the world that is a heart-project and part of your life purpose, there is fear.
Cheryl Richardson says that when you step onto your life purpose path there will be more fear than if you don't.
Doesn't that make sense though?
Doing something you deeply care about and connect to ... it means more.
If you are doing something that means nothing to you ... there is no emotion attached.
That is why Life Coaches and Mentors have said for thousands of years ... 'feel the fear and do it anyway'.
I get this statement now.
I've previously thought ... no no no ... if you feel fear that is BAD!
If you feel fear ... that is an indicator that you are going in the WRONG direction!
Now I understand that there are TWO types of fear.
1. Fear = that is keeping you safe and protecting you from danger eg. being chased by a tiger or about to have a fight
2. Fear = that is letting you know you are on the edge of transformation eg. about to sign a contract to publish your book.
Because if you feel fear around these life purpose steps it means you are growing and moving in the right direction.
How do you tell the difference?
I know the difference by the feelings in my body.
If I am feeling the keep-me-safe fear then it's heart pounding, throat dry, and it's all in my belly, like a hard ball.
If I am feeling the transformational fear then it's nervousness mixed with excitement, like a soft-serve ice-cream swirl.
The feeling goes up to my heart and back to my belly and around in a swirl.
That's how I know.
I'd love to hear how you know.
And if you need some help to get clear on your goals or life purpose, feel free to give me a call or send me an email.
Stay tuned my friends ...
I will keep you in the loop, I promise!
If you have just joined my mailing list you may be wondering what the book is about.

This week’s blog is about relationships ... ooooo I know ... it’s a triggering topic.
Probably because we cannot exist without other people.
We might wish we could go to a cave in the mountains and be a hermit.
No problems up there, right?
You and your mind are still there.
You and your ego are still there.
Okay I’m just gonna day it ...
Your relationship issues are there because YOU are there.
Don’t shoot the messenger now. *grin*
You know me ... I will show you with love what I mean. *hug*
Yes ... other people do say and behave in ways that are not cool.
Yes ... other people can be aggressive.
Yes ... other people can come into our space and disrupt our peace.
As my dad used to say when my siblings would sit on me, or steal my teddy bear, or provoke me ... “you have a choice how you respond.”
You are the powerful master of your world.
You are the super hero of your own life.
You are the wind keeper (a little “Friends” reference there. *wink*).
I know that is not what you wanted to hear.
Well it’s not what your ego mind or personality wants to hear.
It’s so much easier to blame the other person.
Seems like it’s a powerful position. It definitely feels superior.
You know how it feels to be right? We think this is ‘good’.
And you know how it feels to be wrong? We think this is ‘bad’.
But I don’t believe feeling superior is powerful.
After listening to Robert Holden’s podcast (author and life coach) I am coming to believe a new definition of powerful.
It comes from within and it is loving.
Don’t THINK about this, FEEL it. Breathe it in.
When you ‘win’ an argument and you are ‘right’ - do you truly feel at peace?
Does the ‘wrongness’ of another person really and truly bring you happiness?
Can you honestly say ‘I’d rather be right than happy?’
I can’t ...
In the past (and quite recently) I have made decisions and acted (with loving intent) but without any thought of the consequences and then when my actions were not received well, I started to argue my ‘rightness’.
But it didn’t feel good to argue because on some level I knew it was time to accept.
Cheryl Richardson (author and life coach) says that sometimes when the Universe doesn't feel a situation is healthy for us, it will close the door so we can NEVER go back.
I know this change was meant to happen.
And rather than continue to be right, I now CHOOSE peace.
Let me share with you one of the ways that I'm doing it.
I am doing a daily prayer of intention (morning and night) ... and it goes like this:
“Dear Guardian Angels (or you can say God, Source, Archangels, Buddha, Allah)
Thank you for taking care of all my money, life, family, and health issues.
I surrender all that is not in my control to you.
Thank you for supporting me to let go of fixing or solving.
And thank you for helping me to be fulfilled as I help other people.
And so it is.”
Please feel free to adapt this to suit your needs.
Your life is meant to move forward and your Soul is meant to expand ... please ... I lovingly encourage you ... don’t stay stuck in the past because you would rather be right.
May you be happy and at peace.
Blessings Pip x
