This weeks blog is about giving and receiving compliments ... I have been thinking about how my dad used to say to me when I was given a compliment - 'Just say thank you' and receive it graciously.
It is something that I've notice a lot of people have trouble with.
Have you ever given a compliment to a friend and they said 'Oh no, this old thing!' or 'It's not that great.'
It takes the wind out of your sails and makes you feel like your gift of love to them was not worth anything. Right?
When someone gives you a compliment it gives them great joy to do it ... they are not only doing it to make you feel good but they make themselves feel good too ... and it is important for us to receive it to balance out the giving energy.
Another thing I've noticed is that some people feel the need to give a compliment right back in the moment ... and it is not always sincere.
For example: 'I love that new haircut!' ... 'Oh ... I love yours too.' .... what?
It doesn't make sense to respond like this. And people will be less inclined to do it again. (*Unless, of course, they were fishing for a compliment on their own hair and they knew you would do say that ... but that is a whole other kettle of fish ... sneaky reverse compliment psychology stuff. ha ha)
Anyway, my point is ... compliments with genuine intentions are GREAT!!
Give them freely and receive them with joyous abandon.
Thank you! Thank you! Thank you!

This week's blog is about crystals ... did you know that you can use crystals to help you sleep? calm your stomach? release trauma? open up your intuition? let go of pain? and so much more.
If you are an earth angel that really FEELS the energy vibrations of everyone around you, gets drained by people complaining or gossiping and if you're intensely affected by the images on the news ... you will really love crystals!
Firstly, please TURN OFF the news ... if it frightens you or makes you very sad it is not a good choice for your sensitive focus. Be kind to yourself.
Secondly, talk to me about how to cut cords of fear and put up some extra protection ... this will help with the complaining and gossipy people.
Thirdly, let me share some of my favourite crystals for balancing and protection.
Every crystal or gem stone has a certain vibrational frequency and so it works on slightly different conditions or aspects of your life.
Here are some for balancing the chakras:
Clear Quartz - clear colour - opens and cleanses the crown chakra and helps you feel more connected to the Universe.
Amethyst - purple colour - opens and cleanses the third eye chakra and helps you see clearly physically and psychically.
Sodalite - blue colour - opens and cleanses the throat chakra and helps you speak your truth with love.
Rose Quartz - pink colour - open and cleanses the heart chakra and helps you feel more self love.
Jade - green colour - opens and cleanses the heart chakra and helps you heal and balance your relationships.
Citrine - yellow colour - opens and cleanses the solar plexus chakra and helps you feel more confident and calm.
Carnelian - orange colour - opens and cleanses the sacral chakra and helps you feel more energized and creative.
Jasper - red colour - opens and cleanses the base chakra and helps you feel more secure and supported.
If you want to learn more ... there is a Crystals 101 course coming up at Wonthaggi Mitchell House starting Tuesday night - 25th July @7pm.
I'd love to see you there.

This week's blog is about bravery ... what does that mean?
I think most people usually associate it with standing up for yourself in a fight. We all deal with issues in our daily life that cause us to reach for the character trait called bravery or courage ...
I believe it is called forth when you are speaking your truth with love.
It is acting with integrity even when it frightens you.
It is about doing your research and being informed when you are sorting out an important work issue or personal matter.
Being brave has been my theme song this week ... (p.s. If you need a boost ... I love the song "Brave" by Sarah Bareilles - see link below).
Whatever you are going through ... you CAN do this!
You are a powerful being of light.
Know that I am here with you.
Hugs and blessings
This week's blog is about being yourself ... I had the honour of being asked to speak to a group of business women about how to overcome stress and overwhelm.
I have spoken to community groups before about my life working on cruise ships ... but this was different.
These women are business owners, highly motivated, intelligent and practical. Their normal level of stress is much higher than most. And they don't tend to give themselves a lot of time for self-care or relaxation.
Some are aware of alternative therapies, but not all have used them.
So, when I got up to present my "how to de-stress easily" information I was ready for some objections.
What happened was wonderfully positive and reaffirming for me.
I told my story about anxiety and overwhelm as a business owner with honesty and transparency. Everyone listened and then worked through the information easily. There were great questions. There was positive feedback about feeling calmer.
And I realised that by being completely myself the response to my presentation was infinitely better. It gave me an extra boost of confidence. And more importantly, it reaffirmed that I am exactly where I need to be, doing exactly what I need to do in the world.
So, I encourage you to share your story with someone this week ... do it with complete honesty and be yourself.
There is only one of you. Celebrate that!

The weeks blog is about pain ... Do you have any pain? Is it physical, emotional, mental or spiritual? Most people would say they have some pain in their life right now.
How do you deal with it? Perhaps you use pain relief medication ... alcohol ... a hot bath ... a cold pack ... magnesium tablets ... meditation ... a massage ... or maybe a muscle relaxing cream.
I have a few tools in my toolbox for pain relief, depending on the pain.
I love to use the EFT tapping when I am anxious or stressed ... it is a quick and easy way to identify what is really bothering me and dissolve it.
I also like to use meditation when I am tired or worried ... I choose a chakra energy balance, a guided visualisation or a lovely soothing chant and that helps me move into a calmer, relaxed space.
I am also a big fan of the Karma Rub Magnesium Oil - it is really great for headaches and for sore, aching muscles.
One of my favourite methods for all types of pain is Reiki. It's a hands-on energy healing technique that is gentle and very effective. You can go to see a Reiki Practitioner and have a 30-60 minute session which will take you into a deep space of relaxation and peace. It can be combined with a meditation to double the benefits. Or you can learn how to do Reiki energy healing yourself - by doing the Reiki Level One course - so you can treat yourself any time and any where that you need to.
How great is THAT?
If you are interested in any of these tools ... let me know.
The next Reiki Level One course starts on Sunday 23rd July.
