25/11/2019 0 Comments Life is like hopscotch ...As I did one of my bike rides this week, I came across a hopscotch game that was drawn on the footpath and it stretched a whole block. Aside from admiring the artwork, I was impressed by how it was winding, curving, looping, it even had dead-ends and challenges along the course.
It reminded me of life. Life never goes in a straight line. Even when we make a plan. Especially when we make a plan. Right? What’s that quote? “When we make a plan the Universe laughs.” My journey started with me growing up in Tasmania, going to University to study Psychology and then Tourism Marketing; travelling to Africa, UK, Europe, Asia, South America, Egypt and then working on cruise ships around the US and Caribbean, as an entertainer and teaching my meditation classes. And now I run my own business coaching people to take care of themselves. None of that was planned at the beginning. How could I have known that this was how it would all unfold? Although my ‘life-hopscotch’ does have a theme ... it all centres around me being happy and helping others to do the same. You might like to call that my purpose. One of my mentors said to me “Pip, your job is not your purpose, your career is not your purpose ... it’s the essence underneath them ... the driving force behind them, that’s your purpose.” What is your theme? The other cool thing that happened while I did my ride, was I saw a very big and noisy flock of Black Cockatoos. Scott Alexander King says that Black cockatoo teaches the lesson of SURRENDER. “Black Cockatoo demonstrates the patience that can only come when we accept that we cannot possibly know everything at the beginning of the journey and that wisdom will present itself at the appropriate time. She helps us take control of life by insisting that we grow at our own pace and learn what we need to know in our own time. She encourages us to just sit in contemplation and wait for life’s mysteries to unfold without consciously seeking answers. She teaches us to trust, encourages us to confront our fears, to go with the flow and to embrace all new opportunities as they present themselves. This period of uncertainty and chaos that you’re going through will soon be over, so be patient, as it will soon pass.” What a perfect message from Black Cockatoo for this holiday season. Huh? So, this holidays season if you are feeling overwhelmed and stressed - take a breath – and ask yourself ‘what will truly make ME happy?’ ... Not just ‘who else do I need to take care of?’ How your ‘life-hopscotch’ unfolds is not about anyone else but YOU. If you need any help ... here is my offer ... 11/11/2019 0 Comments I've forgotten to BE ...This week's blog is about emotions ...
As I was crying this morning watching Facebook videos of empowered women, I realised that I've had quite an emotional month, and I've not let myself fully embrace or honour all of those emotions. That might seem a bit counter-intuitive for me ... I mean, I teach people how to get in touch with their feelings and tap into their truth. But sometimes we all get caught up in the DOING and forget to BE. I have been DOING my book launch and DOING my business and DOING my part-time jobs. But at times, I've forgotten to BE relaxed, BE excited, BE reflective, BE grateful ... to BE proud. There is a lot to be said for sitting on the verandah in the sun, listening to the birds, and taking a breath. And as I sat there ... I thought ... "I've just published my first book! HOLY MOLY! That's awesome!" Before I start planning my next steps ... I am just taking a minute to revel in the joy of this goal being achieved. I believe our lives are more fulfilled when we take these moments. I have often spoken to my sister (Marnie) about that question we ask other people ... "So what have you been doing?" And that person lists all the things that they have DONE since you last saw them. Marnie and I made a commitment to share the things we are BEING too. Now we say ... "I've been addressing my negative self-talk, I've been honouring my inner child, I've let go of the pain in my left shoulder and I've been journalling about the reasons why I get angry at my boss when he criticizes my work." So, what have you been DOING that is consuming you? And what do you prefer to be BEING to feel more fulfilled? Please feel free to reply to this email or comment below on this blog with your thoughts. Blessings Pip x 11/11/2019 0 Comments Massive Gratitude! This week's blog is all about MASSIVE GRATITUDE!!!
I have always been one to look (mostly) on the positive side. I really make a point of focusing on raising the vibration of every situation. And as we move into the last week of the pre-launch of my book ... there are A LOT of things to be grateful for. My BIG THREE are below: * My family have always been huge supporters of everything I do. I am so glad that I chose them. Deeply grateful. Thanks Mum, for sending out my launch email to EVERYONE you know. I love that enthusiasm. I think that's where I get my determination from. * My clients and friends all over the world ... you all TOTALLY ROCK!!! I seriously love you all right now. Facebook has kept me in touch with people from my overseas adventures (including cruise ships) and I am so unbelievably glad that we can share in each other's lives from far away. * My publisher Ocean Reeve, Jason Smith and the editing / formatting team at O.R.P have put in many hours to bring this book to life. I know they were excited when I said 'I don't care about the font' ... but I have sent the proof back 17 times with slight changes ... and although they probably have said some expletives under their breath, they never said anything but 'no worries' to me. What a blessing. The creation of this book has happened because I wrote a bunch of stories ... and then YOU all helped me to give birth to it. And so, this blog is just simply to say THANK YOU. Blessings Pip x p.s. Below is another short excerpt from the book called 'People who saved me from drowning in triviality' p.p.s. You can get your copy of the book for only $25 (with lots of bonuses) until the 16th November ... just CLICK HERE p.p.p.s. Watch out for another story-time video on Facebook tomorrow ... :-) Excerpt from PART TWO / CHAPTER FOUR - Meeting Inspiring People When I began working on cruise ships I met a few guests who were on the same wavelength as me. My main interactions with the guests, though, were very superficial and didn’t allow for much intelligent conversation. But after I started doing the wellness classes on board I met a wonderful tribe of soulful people. It was a surprise to me, even though I had set the intention to do just that. People Who Saved Me From Drowning In Triviality One of my favourite things about teaching these classes on board was that I significantly changed my beliefs about the cruise ship guests, and American cruise ship guests in particular. Growing up in Australia, the only source of information was the news and sitcoms – and let’s face it, neither are showing the cream of the society. Even my fellow American crew members would say they were embarrassed by the collective behaviour of the American cruise ship guests. ‘You won’t believe what this guest asked me today. He asked me how we make the water salty in the pool. These guests crack me up!’ I would go to the Internet café between activities to chat to Scott, one of my US friends. ‘Argh my God! They make us look so bad!’ he would protest. ‘Come on … they’re on holiday.’ I would try to defend them, but I actually agreed with him. ‘No, they are stupid, insular and rude! I’m embarrassed to be one of them.’ ‘You are not one of them, Scott.’ ‘You’re too kind and I’m still … SO sorry.’ ‘Well, I appreciate the sentiment, but you don’t have to apologise for them. You are the shining light of intelligence, humour and sarcasm. You make up for all of them. You and Sebastian.’ ‘Thanks Pip, but you have to say that because I could have you deported. You are in my country.’ ‘You have no such power!’ I’d roll my eyes and laugh. ‘Coffee?’ It was his cure all. ‘Yes … of course. You’re buying … because I’ve been traumatised by your fellow Americans.’ ‘Shut up!’ He’d say with a chuckle. I had no idea how much I was drowning in the triviality of my job as a social host until I taught my first classes and someone said to me, ‘Thank you so much. The three hours I spent with you have been a great gift and perfect for this moment in my journey.’ I was hooked. I had given myself the gift of fulfilment. This week’s blog is a reminder that our soul is eternal and our human body is its temporary holiday home.
I have to say that this topic is my most favourite... when I teach my past lives class, when I do a past life regression, and when I read a past lives book with my spiritual book club group ... it lights me up (like a Christmas tree 🎄- is it too early for that reference?) You know when something is true for you when it makes you feel pumped but also peaceful. And ... there is a deep knowingness in your heart. I’d like to share a story with you from my book Finding my Soul at Sea - when I was doing past life regression meditations with guests, as part of my Wellness program. I hope it gets your past life memories flowing like it did for me. And you can watch a video of me reading another one of my past life stories on Facebook tomorrow. 😉 Blessings Pip x Excerpt from Finding my Soul at Sea - Part Two / Chapter Three MESSAGES FROM THE PAST My favourite past life meditation is by Quiet Earth Publishing (Australia). It’s really simple and easy to follow so it’s great for beginners. The whole thing takes about thirty minutes. First, you are led through an easy process to relax your body. Then you are asked to create or imagine a “sacred space” in your mind where you can start your journey. Then a door appears in the “sacred space” and you are asked to open the door and step through into your past life. Then they talk you through the experience of that memory. At the end you are guided back to the door and into your “sacred space” where you review your experience and consider how it relates to your current life circumstances. This is the meditation that I would play for the guests on the last day of the cruise. At the beginning of the class I would explain: Welcome to my favourite meditation class. No matter if this is your first time or your hundredth time of doing a past life meditation or regression journey, it will be unique. Sometimes when you do a past life meditation you won’t get a clear visual memory. It may be that when you step through the door into the past life, you only get a small “snippet” of information. So, please don’t be disheartened if it is not an amazing technicolour stage show in your mind. I have seen very clear and vivid scenes unfolding in front of my eyes, like a movie. I have seen quick snapshots of scenes, like photographs in my mind. I have also done some meditations where I couldn’t see anything. It was just black – like when your eyes are closed. But I could smell a scent … flowers, straw, baking bread, smoke or something else that could not logically be explained in the ship environment. There were some occasions where I didn’t see anything or smell anything, but I did get a strong feeling to indicate my state of mind. For example, there might be an overwhelming feeling of happiness, sadness, confusion, loneliness or anger. But most importantly, I’ve noticed that usually the memory from the past life would be reflective of my current life circumstances and issues that I was dealing with. So, it would then give me some guidance on how to handle my current situation. Are you ready to get started? … I always found the people who joined this class were what I call “true seekers” … people who were looking for answers. People who had been asking for guidance and hadn’t been able to get it any other way. It was always a transformative class for me and for the guests who joined me. One of my first past life memories went like this: I stepped through the door into the past life and could see that I was in a large garden. As I looked around, I could see the bright green of the grass, the perfectly arranged flower beds and a very ornate water fountain. All this was laid out in front of a huge estate home at the top of the hill. I felt that I was in Spain. I could smell the strong fragrance of roses nearby. It was a very strong scent. When I looked down at my clothing I was dressed in a white blouse with long sleeves, a full pale blue skirt and a red sash at my corseted waist. I smoothed my skirt and tucked my dark brown hair behind my ear. I had an overwhelming feeling of joy as I walked through the garden admiring the flowers. It was so beautiful. I felt proud of my garden. Everyone would be so impressed (jealous – I hoped) when they came to the party. When I came back into the room after this meditation, I could still smell the roses. I was delighted. It was so clear. It was not something that my imagination made up in my mind. Yes, I have been to Spain in this lifetime, but never to a location like that one. It was like having déjà vu. I felt like it was my home. I felt very peaceful and calm. In the beginning, I enjoyed the meditations but honestly, I wasn’t completely convinced myself that it wasn’t just my imagination. I had a great imagination. I vividly dream with the best of them. But each time I did the past life journey meditation I got more and more evidence that these were my memories – and the way I knew that was the depth of emotion and “knowingness” that came during and after the process. My imagination and vivid dreaming never gave me a feeling of complete calm and knowledge that I am a Divine Soul that is infinite and that we never die. That only comes from a past life memory. PAST LIFE MEMORY #2 As the past life meditation CD directed me to go to my “sacred space” in my mind, I felt a tingle of excitement. This lifetime was significant. I could already feel it. As I walked towards the door that appeared in my mind, I could see the outer edge was carved with symbols which looked familiar but I couldn’t quite place them. Egyptian? No. Mexican? No. I traced the outline of the symbols with my hand. They were ornate and beautiful. They also felt like they were vibrating. Then as I stepped through the door, to the past life beyond, I realised that the symbols were Peruvian, like the ones I’d seen when I hiked the Inca Trail to Machu Picchu. The vision was not initially clear. But the feeling I got was a heavy weight of responsibility. I heard myself praying, “Angels, please protect my flock!” I know that I’m a Spiritual Leader. Then I realise that my eyes are closed in the memory. And when I open them I can see the vista of Machu Picchu (Peru) in front of me. I’m standing at the Sun Gate watching the sunrise over the temples. My people have been coming to me concerned and scared. “What will happen when they come?” (they are referring to the Spanish soldiers). “It is our destiny – we have done what we came here to do.” I say, “Be not afraid.” When they come everyone is calm and peaceful. It is the end of the Inca. When I was in Machu Picchu, Peru in this lifetime I remember feeling a very strong spiritual connection. I sat on the grass near the temple and I knew that I’d lived in that place before. It was a “deep in my soul” knowing. I had never felt like that in any other place that I’d travelled. This past life memory helped me to make sense of the intense connection that I felt on that South American tour.
