CONNECT WITH AUTHORS
Ocean Reeve Publishing is a publishing company based in Brisbane and Gold Coast, however, we service authors globally.
We pride ourselves in providing quality trade standard books. This is why we offer tailored book publishing and marketing services to our authors. Self-publishing is an option! So, what is self-publishing? A self-published author leads the process. They must produce the final draft and supply the funds required to edit, design, market, and distribute the book. You must also decide how many copies will be printed and pay for each one. It is exactly as it sounds – managed by self, meaning you are leading the process. We do not feel that publishing and marketing a book should be a solo effort. As the saying goes – ‘it takes a village’ – this applies in book publishing as well.
We understand the value in creative expression and the vulnerability authors feel heading into the publishing space. In addition, the relationship between the author and the publishing team needs to be one of respect, care, and focus. Ocean Reeve Publishing is a book publishing company committed to your success and assisting you in achieving the goals and dreams you have as an author. So join us in bringing your story to life.
Jenny Old has written two books - 'Back of Beyond' and 'Innocent Nurses Abroad'.
She was brought up on a comfortable farm in the Riverina, and travelled to Europe via the Fairstar cruise ship to have many adventures with a group of fellow nurses.
She fell in love with Rick Old and went to live and work with him on his property, McAllister, in the Gulf of Carpentaria. There, she faced incredible hardship, living in a hut with not even basic necessities. Her only contact with the outside world was a two-way radio. In this vast empty landscape, she battled drought, flood, fire, and cyclones. For eighteen years she and Rick struggled to stay on in the Gulf, eventually triumphantly turning McAllister into a thriving oasis.

Jen Compton is a poet and author of Life’s a Mango. She works as an educator at a primary school in Brisbane and enjoys being around the energy of children. The reason she writes rhyming verse is because it makes her happy and it helps to take her on the lifelong journey from the head to the heart. She also gets great joy from reciting her poems to others ,as well as feeling an emotional connection with her audience.
She is an admirer of His Holiness the Dalai Lama and spiritual teachers like Eckhart Tolle. She enjoys meditating on topics like impermanence, loving kindness and compassion.
Jen published Life’s a Mango so that people can see that there is a new way of approaching everyday situations; a way that is more conscious, more aware and more loving. She hopes that people will feel a shift in their heart and look at the relationship they have with themselves and others in a fresh, new way. The beautiful mandalas are to colour and the blank pages at the back give you the opportunity to express your emotions through words and/or pictures. Jen prays that Life’s a Mango will speak to you in a personal way and help you to live a more conscious, present and connected life, right now.

Kelly Maree settled back in Brisbane, Australia with her husband after 10 years travelling around the world, working as a diving instructor and photographer. Life was turned upside down when the couple’s twin ‘surprises’ were born prematurely at 24 weeks on Christmas eve of 2015. Unfortunately little Oli passed on New Year’s Day 2016.
All of her books are dedicated to the loving memory of Oli and all the little angels that didn’t make it, and a percentage of the books sales donated to the RBWH and Precious Wings Foundations to help support bereaved families and premature babies, making this project extremely personal for Kelly.
Kelly threw herself into her removals business and settled on being a mother and business owner, pushing her writing and photography career into the background. With her ever-growing love for her little boy, Kelly decided to create a legacy for Oskar and Oli, and Oskar’s Adventures was born. Her passion for writing and creating poetic adventures for children to enjoy is apparent from the first few pages of any of her three books.
She would love to see her books in every child’s collection in Australia and the adventure series to reach every corner of the globe.
The first three books of Oskar’s Adventures are Oskar and the Bear, Oskar and the Moon Rocks and Oskar and the Storm are due for release in September 2020. The illustrations were drawn by Maria Etcher. Kelly Maree is working on the next books in the series, aiming for around 20 books to complete the set.
