This week the theme of the podcast is the wisdom of the animal spirit guides, whose overall mission it is to help you get grounded and centred. Especially during the phases of menopause when we are encouraged to trust our true divine self and let go of the need to put others first.

Over the holidays I had 3 lovely interactions with Tiger - whose specific guidance is all about being focused, patient and embracing the passion of new adventures. First, I was given a present with Tigers on the paper and the note said “ Seadragon in the water, Tiger on the land.” Thank you Neri. The next day another person gave me a paint by numbers of a Tiger. Love it Sarah. And then I pulled the Tiger card from my oracle deck. Snap! That’s the ASG trifecta. Just a heads up, significant messages come in 3s.
So, since we are coming to the end of the Year of the Snake, I thought now is the perfect time to share with you my Snake story. You might like to pause, grab a cuppa and I’ll tell you.
When I was a teenager (in high school and early university) I used to have a recurring dream about snakes. I’d be walking on a pathway in a forest and lots of snakes would slither onto the path and I’d have to step over them. I never got to the end of the path and I had a strong feeling of anxiety. I’d become resigned that this would never end.
At that time I wrote my dreams down but I wasn’t sure what they meant or how to stop the recurring dreams. Then when I was 23 years old, I went on a weekend retreat and we did some deep meditations, drawing and other healing exercises. And on the Saturday night I dreamt the snake dream. But it was slightly different.
This time I walked along the path, stepping over the snakes, but I didn’t feel anxious. And this time I walked to the end of the path and I saw there was a grass hut. Outside the hut there was a fire.
In the dream I remember thinking “oh this is different, I’ve never seen that before.” When I opened the door, inside I saw there was a huge snake coiled up on the floor. It looked at me. I looked at it. Still feeling no anxiety. Wow!
Then I just calmly reached out and grabbed the snake, pulled its head off, and threw it into the fire.
And then I woke up. I know right?!
It was the most liberating feeling.
When I told my coach at the retreat she suggested that I read about Snake and the spiritual significance of that animal spirit guide. Turns out Snake is all about embracing your personal power and letting go of your old self, so a new version can emerge. Well I certainly did that. (By the way, I’m now 52 and I’ve never had the snake dream since.)
I know a lot of you have really felt the intensity of that shedding and rebirthing energy of the year of the Snake. It can feel harsh and painful. Particularly this will resonate for women during peri-menopause and menopause when you may really connect with the divine energy of Snake. Rediscovering your inner power and awakening your kundalini.
I’m here to let you know that Snake medicine is almost done. It’s nearly time to grab the reins of the Year of the horse
2026 is the Year of the Fire Horse in the Chinese Zodiac, beginning with the Lunar New Year on the 17th February 2026, and ending on the 5th February 2027, bringing energies of passion, action, independence, and transformation, with the potential for significant progress and bold changes.
Key Aspects of the 2026 Fire Horse Year include;
Fire element amplifies the Horse's natural characteristics of enthusiasm, drive, freedom, and vitality, with fiery passion and determination.
Expect strong, fast-moving energy, encouraging innovation, courage, and pursuing goals with passion.
It's a rare combination, with the last Fire Horse year being 1966, often associated with major shifts and breakthroughs.
What to Expect:

Colors: Red, orange, purple, and electric blue are associated with this fiery energy. Wear them. Paint them. Surround yourself with them.
I love working with Animal Spirit Guides and I’m really excited about this year’s energy. There’s so much potential for us to grow and expand if we understand and embrace the new energy, and flow with it, rather than resisting.
